China-made batik print

China-made batik print

Ironically, China-made batik also came to Indonesia with prices much cheaper! This threatens Indonesian batik crafters because Chinese batik-with lower price-to attract more consumers.

As a lover of batik-and culture-loving citizens of Indonesia, I feel very disappointed with the emergence of 'case' is. Why did the government allow the import of Chinese batik? Although he said most of these products entering Indonesia illegally, but why as there was no action to prevent the proliferation of Chinese-made batik trade it? Even the government said it did not worry about the entry of Chinese batik to Indonesia because Indonesian batik superior in terms of quality. They should have realized, the purchasing power of Indonesian society in general still low so that they would choose the cheaper product.

Worse, I am a huge fan of batik had already bought a few pieces of batik blouse that seemed made in China. For the consumer batik, you should consider carefully before buying, because it actually possible to distinguish between Chinese and Indonesian batik batik like the following:

1. Chinese batik cheaper price, in the range of Rp. 50.000, -

2. Having been made by way of printing, it is easier to fade than batik batik or seal.

3. Glance it is difficult to distinguish, but in terms of visible difference in image quality between Chinese & Indonesian batik, where batik made with a canting or cap of higher quality.
