Adjie Notonegoro: Batik Wear Forever
Batik fashion trend mushrooming among the general public for some time it was a well Adjie Notonegoro. One of the top Indonesian fashion designers are even asking people to wear batik clothes forever.
"Wear batik forever," said Adjie that when met at Government House in Jakarta, Thursday (22 / 5), wearing a batik shirt patterned black and yellow paradise.
Adjie batik hope this trend does not only lasts a moment, but it could be forever, not just one or two years. "I hope that batik is not merely a trend, but it can at all times, for life of this nation," he said. "I want the people of Indonesia are proud of batik as an Indian sari or Thailand is proud to be proud with Thai silk," he said. He hopes that in future the designers can contribute to the crafters to share ideas that can evolve batik motifs.
"I believe the idea was not a secret thing because if the ideas submitted to the crafters will be limited," said Adjie saying that he had also asked the artisans make batik cloth longer to be more easily varied to different types of clothing.
According to Adjie, he is currently developing a motive Lasem batik motifs such as antique batik. "I am also encouraging the use of cotton cloth for batik dress today because cotton is more easy to maintain in accordance with the weather in Indonesia and could be used in a variety of opportunities," he said.
He also considered, batik cloth made of cotton can be used as an haute couture or Haute couture. (ANT)
