In Time Close, Batik Pekalongan will be recognized as World Cultural Heritage Pekalongan Batik Lovers Society Chairman, Fatiyah A. Kadir explains that batik Pekalongan, Central Java in the near future to get recognition from UNESCO (the United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural) as one of the world's cultural heritage. "The recognition from UNESCO is scheduled to be done in October 2009. Therefore the people of Indonesia particularly Pekalongan batik can maintain the aesthetic value," he said in Pekalongan. According to him, efforts can be recognized batik proposed as a Unesco world cultural heritage through a long process and quite complicated because it must meet conditions, such as academic preparation of the manuscript about the batik and the support from the government. "Indonesian Batik proposed is not a motive but its aesthetic value which is still firmly held by most crafters batik Pekalongan," he said. Rusdiyanto (one of the batik crafters) says, the crafters are optimistic with the recognition from Unesco would add Pekalongan batik could be more familiar world. "The plan we confirm the inauguration of the UNESCO will add to the motivation of the craftsmen for more mngembangkan batik," he said.
